**WE ARE OPEN FOR IN-PERSON AND ONLINE CONSULTATIONS**

We offer In-Person, Online Drop-Off (asynchronous), and Live Chat (synchronous) appointments:

In-Person: Meet with a consultant face-to-face!

Live Chat: Live Chat appointments allow you to meet with the Writing Consultant in an online setting. If you choose a Live Chat appointment, log back in to this website approximately five to ten minutes before the start of your appointment. Then, open the appointment and click "Start or Join Live Chat."

Drop-Off: Drop-Offs allow you to get feedback on a document without coming to the WC. Click on any available appointment time, and the Writing Consultant will use that time slot to provide feedback on your document. If you choose a Drop-Off appointment, upload your paper and the assignment sheet (if applicable) at the bottom of the appointment form. Then, watch your email for a notification that your appointment has been modified or that someone has responded to your paper.

Account Disabled: If you get a message that your account has been disabled, it is because you have been marked as a no-show for at least 3 appointments. You must contact Tia Tucker to have your account reactivated: Tia.Tucker@utoledo.edu

Cancellations: You must cancel your appointments or you will be marked as a no-show. To cancel, simply click on your scheduled appointment and click on "cancel this appointment" at the bottom of the appointment form. This allows others to be able to schedule for this time slot. You can cancel an appointment any time up to 30 minutes before your scheduled time, but the cancellation function is disabled within 30 minutes of your appointment, so please cancel as early as possible.

Appointment Durations: Appointments are limited to 25 or 50 minutes, depending on the assignment length; please note that Writing Consultants must allow themselves time to summarize the session with you and complete your session report before their next appointment.

Please note that you will not get through a 10-20 page paper in one session; these projects require more time. Since the writing center does not simply edit your work, a couple one-hour appointments should be sufficient for discussing such projects.

If your paper is longer than 3 double-spaced pages, please schedule your appointment for 50 minutes.

Contacts: The Writing Center leadership team can be reached at writingcenter@utoledo.edu. Tia Tucker, Director of Academic Support Services, is able to assist you with Writing Center questions or concerns: Tia.Tucker@utoledo.edu
